Sustainability During the Zombie Apocalypse

The overall goal was to design a book that used a central theme of sustainability.

So what are some common things that come to mind in regard to the concept of sustainability? Green energy, green foods, green cars, and a variety of other eco-friendly buzzwords that have been done to death. I wanted to go in the opposite direction of green, so what could I do with the color red?

I cannot think of a more fitting scenario to demonstrate the concept of sustainability in than an imaginary world overrun with the undead.

Using text lifted from Max Brooks' The Zombie Survival Guide as copy, I designed and compiled a number of pieces meant to resemble the latch ditch efforts of Frank, a former lackey of a preeminent congressional chairperson. Frank's goal was to destroy all evidence of a past government study done on the Solanum (zombie) virus and preserve plausible deniability in the wake of the virus' widespread outbreak and pending collapse of society.

Obviously, Frank doesn't make it.

In the end, the project evolved into more than just a single book, becoming an elaborate repackaging of some of author Max Brooks' most noteworthy work.

This collection was also featured in Wayne State University's College of Fine, Performing, and Communication Arts' 2013 Graduating Seniors Exhibition.
Seeing as it was used as an improvised weapon against the undead, the aluminum briefcase was a better choice in retrospect.
Attempts to burn the evidence were not as successful as the carrier had hoped.
The manuals feature pertinent information on the Solanum virus, along with the instructions to operate the various systems supplied to Site 42B, a government-supplied camp that's part of a larger network of self-sustaining micro colonies with a long term goal of repopulating a post-apocalyptic continental United States.
"Phalanx," was a fraudulent cure to the zombie virus in World War Z, another work of Max Brooks that's considered a companion to The Zombie Survival Guide
A brutally honest letter from a former superior.
Senator Prescott's ticket to salvation, with modifications by Mr. Harris.

How did the senator and his family plan to flee to the site without their ticket?
Hand prints and blood from an obvious bite wound, but why the bullet wound through the abdomen?

Maybe the Solanum study wasn't the only evidence Franklin Harris was trying to dispose of.
